To respond to pedestrian and bicyclist fatalities in Texas, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) funded a Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) project to explore and identify barriers to pedestrian and bicycle safety laws in Texas. The purpose of the project was to understand barriers to laws through conducting a policy review and conducting focus groups of motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians to identify barriers to existing pedestrian and bicycle safety laws. Based on the findings of these activities factsheets were designed on pedestrian and bicycle safety laws in Texas. The factsheets are intended to be shared and used by others conducting bicycle and pedestrian safety efforts. Electronic copies can be found below. If you have any questions or would like printed copies, please feel free to contact the project lead Amber Trueblood at [email protected].
